Flea Market Fancy Giveaway

It was my little sister's wedding today and everything about it was wonderful. I can't wait to show you some photos. She was stunning! I've been helping with some of the preparations so I haven't been on the computer much, but I've been meaning to have a giveaway with some flea market fancy fabric, so to celebrate this happy day, lets kick it off.

I'm giving away a charm pack of Denyse Schmidt's Flea Market Fancy fabrics. There 40 5 inch squares (2 each of 20 different fabrics). If you haven't heard of "Flea Market Fancy" check out this blog to see how much it is loved and how hard it is to find. I'm also including a paper copy of my pattern "Charm Bracelets" - just in case you need some inspiration for what to do with your charm pack.

This giveaway is open to everyone. I'll ship internationally, so go on don't be shy. All you need to do is leave a comment telling me your favourite chocolate. If you don't like chocolate (well its a bit strange but you can still be my friend) just leave a comment telling me your favourite snack food. Comment before midnight on Tuesday night (Sydney time) and I will pick a winner on Wednesday.
I'll start - my favourite is Haighs chocolate from Adelaide Australia (my home town) - plain buttons are the best (peppermint is yummy too).

  1. oh man, as soon I read "telling me your favourite chocolate" I thought Haighs but I see you already took that but I still stand by its fantasticness (is that a word?) but peppermint frog (the big one of course) or choc-caramels are in a neck & neck race to my mouth. big day today & she did look so gorgeous (& oh Regan's song made me cry just a bit), so I'm proud of your dedication to blogging :)

  2. so you are a quilt designers AND mind reader? As soon as I saw your pattern a while ago, I thought this would be perfect with FMF...I don't have a big enough selection yet though...would love to win this giveaway to give this all a chance! chocolate...DeBrand's chocolate might be my top...local shop here in town that makes some truely sinful treats. I love their tasting bars...raspberry and white chocolate are divine! Thanks for a chance.

  3. I'm on that list to bring back FMF so would love to enter your draw! (But I don't need the pattern - grin!) Photo of the new sample should be on the blog this weekend. Chocolate HAS to have nuts in it for me.

  4. What a generous giveaway!

I love "Maya Gold" Organic Chocolate made by "Green and Blacks". It is dark chocolate flavoured with spices and orange, which is an acquired taste. It is quite strong, so a piece or two is enough.

I mainly like it because it is certified Fair Trade Chocolate. This means that no child or slave labor has been used in it's production, as much of the worlds cocoa production involves terrible working conditions, (to keep cocoa costs down).

  7. FMF is my favorite line of fabric ever! I really like dark chocolate. Like a 72% or an 85%. But I really want to try the Komforte Chockolates that come in flavors like lime salt, ramen noodle & french toast!

  8. Oh, congrats to you sister! I absolutely adore FMF! I have a small bundle of some of the prints that I've been holding onto until I can find the perfect project. I could definitely use some more though!

My favourite chocolate is either dark chocolate spiked with sea salt or dark chocolate spiked with chili. I also love dark chocolate with almonds, or cashews.

  9. I can't believe you have FMF and are giving it away! So generous! I like chocolate with almonds or a nice chocolate mint truffle. I'm with Pumpkin Head -- I've been looking for the Komforte chocolate bars. I especially want to try ramen noodles and/or French toast.

  27. Hi Kate,

I'm a chocoholic from way back. I love Lindt chocolates the best though...especially the dark chocolate intense with chilli (the rest of the family think I'm mad LOL. I also love Lindor balls, especially the Easter egg variety (cos they're bigger ha ha). Though I am a big fan of the origianl kit kats (doesn't work as well with the thicker ones)...Ooohhh and then there's choc chip cookies
I think I better stop here before I get to the cooking chocolate LOL

    Hugs, Sharon

BTW I love this fabric, its very generous of you to share :)

  30. Chokoholic...YES - arent we(women)it all?
For the moment I eat way too much of "Mjölkchoklad med Daim" (milkchocolate with almond croquant) from the Swedish company Marabou.
I am a big fan of dark chocolate, so this is a "sidetrip". Dark choc with sesame.

By the way it would be lovely if the prints was passed to me in Sweden - it should make my day in all snow!

  35. Flea Market FANCY! We're in rapture!

There's a discount grocery store, Aldi, that has a store brand, Baker's Corner. Their bagged chocolate chips are THE BEST chocolate I've ever put in my mouth. Strait out of the bag, by the handful. YUM.

  37. I agree with you and Ingrid. Haighs Haighs Haighs!!! I do like the plain and peppermint pastilles too, but the aprichocs and dark chocolate block with apricot usually wins out with me. You would think that I am probably done with the list ... but no, after all of these years I still love fruchocs. There seems to be a recurring theme here ... I love chocolate and apricot mmmmmm.
Yesterday was wonderful, it's so nice to see them both so happy and so in love.

  38. Well I heart chocolate, but there is this little shop in our town "Matthew's Chocolates"...fabulous! My son gave me some choc bark w/expresso beans for V-day and at first I chomped down and it was not so great then I decided to let it melt in my mouth....OMG it was soooo different. Lesson learned sometimes it is how we eat it to discover the true qualities. He has so many other wonderful chocolates there too. BTW thanks for the wonderful inspirations and the giveaway!

  44. Haighs caramel chews, I've carted them over 1000kms interstate from the Adelaide store in an esky full of ice in 40 deg heat just to get my fix! Thankfully there is now a store in Sydney - cheers

  45. My favorite is dark chocolate. Learned that eating regular amounts of very dark high cocoa chocolate is good for heart health and almonds help reduce cholesterol (sp?). So, eating 2 or 3 Hershey's extra special dark chocolate minatures with almonds a day is better for me than french fries. A fabric giveaway is also a favorite pasttime because I love to make quilts too.

    ReplyDelete
  46. My favourite chocolate is good old Cadbury's, probably fruit & nut. Your giveaway is fantastic and I think that fabric with that pattern would look amazing.
    Mandy Hawkins.
