Well we didn't find out with our first, Sarah - she was a surprise. After an absolute marathon of a labour I was just happy to have her in my arms and it wasn't until a few minutes after she was born that I asked what she was.

We found out with Dane and it didn't take away any of the excitement at the birth. His was a lovely calm water birth (if you subtract my mooing sounds - too much info?) and he just lay in my arms and gazed at me without a single cry.

So with this one I just couldn't help myself, I wanted to know...

... and she's a girl! We couldn't be happier (I suspected it might be a girl since I was sicker this time, similar to how I was with Sarah). I'm doing well now and sporting a rather prominent belly!
Ofcourse this would be the perfect opportunity to cut into my Heather Ross stash to make her a little quilt (I have a feeling this little girl's going to have a quilt for every day of the week). And I think I might just join Jennifer's quilt along at That Girl That Quilt. Its a really cute pattern and perfect for showing off those gorgeous prints. I have the grey for the borders, but just have to buy some pink for the background fabric.

Oh congrats!! If I was having another girl I would be all about those Heather Ross prints; they will make an adorable quilt! I'm so glad you are feeling well now...
ReplyDeleteJennifer :)
Woohoo! Congratulations, I LOVE my girl, and would be happy to have another too! They're the best!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Kate! Little girls are so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteYAY a girl!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI know just the gift!
Congratulations, Kate! I have 1 boy and 2 girls, and it is quite a ride!! :-) I just posted today about munki munki, and here you are showing a beautiful stack. If you want to swap any, let me know! Though it looks like you may already have all of mine....impressive collection!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! and she's going to love that quilt! I made some bibs for my Bug in those designs- the blue campers, the blue dogs and the fishy one. I wish I'd saved the scraps now!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the "newest-soon-to-be" addition to your family!

Love those little girls! The grey and pink will be great with the Heather Ross charms!
ReplyDeleteYahooooooo!!! Our numbers are a little on the female side in our house, and we love it! You need more women to quilt with when you're a granny! Bring it on!

I can't wait to meet her! You and Todd make such cute kiddos.
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is going to be so adorable. I posted about the Munki prints you gave me today also. I'm still not sure what I'm going to make yet .... just enjoying staring at them :)
Oh congratulations Kate, how exciting! I had two boys first and then my third pregnancy was twin girls - I'd always wanted four kids so I kind of thought - "yay, we're all done now, no more pregnancies" - they're 8 now - wow that must make me very old...can't wait to see the quilt you make for her. X
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you both Kate! How exciting, a girl! It's quite handy to know when making things and quilts, you can go all out pink now!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It's so much fun to make pink things, isn't it? And those fabrics? Your quilt is going to be just divine :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kate,
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does spoil the excitement when the baby is born. There's also the advantage of not sticking to gender-neutral colours and you only have to find one name...we just made it with a couple of weeks to spare...imagine if we had needed 2 names :D
Lots of hugs,
Sharon
Congratulations Kate, I am thrilled for you all, and glad to here that things are going well. Her siblings are gorgeous! My first one was a surprise, then i found out with the next two, I just loved being able to sew for them before they arrived.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Pam

ReplyDeleteWonderful news! Of course, it would have been just as wonderful if you were having a little boy...but MY GOODNESS - that fabric!!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get it from? I want it all :)
